IMPORTANT INFORMATION
It has come to our attention that Epson have recently taken steps which may affect the functionality of our Inklink intelli-reset chipsets.
Epson has recently implemented an auto updating firmware function via software provided with your printer called ‘Download Navigator’. This software loads an updated firmware for your printer via the internet. Once installed the firmware can cause our chipsets to function incorrectly, causing randomised cartridge recognition errors.
It is highly recommended that you do not update your firmware and disable this option when installing the drivers which came with your printer.
To disable the updating process you will need to turn off the firmware updates option during the printer driver installation. You will be presented with a screen similar to below during which we recommend you choose not to auto update firmware.
This issue seems only to affect a very small number of Epson printers including the Artisan 730 and 837 models. The symptoms are repeated cartridge errors requiring a reset which re-occur every few pages printed.
If you have already installed the drivers and do experience chip recognition issues please don’t hesitate to contact our technicians on (03) 9005 5555 (open 10-5pm mon-fri). A secondary chipset may have been included in your kit. This second chipset can be attached and tested to rule out the chance of the initial chipset being faulty.
At this stage we are in the process of updating our chips to rectify this issue and anticipate a new chip release within the next few months.
