New printer releases by Epson, Canon, HP and Brother have been the news over the last month or so and we have feverishly been developing a number of new models including:

Canon: IP4950, MG5350, MG6250, MG8250

Epson: Artisan 730, Artisan 837, NX230, NX430, R2000, R3000

Brother: MFC- J6510DW, J6710DW, J6910DW

For those who are not aware feel free to visit our facebook page and give us a like. Also for those tweeters feel free to follow us.

Unfortunately we have seen a dramatic increase in the illegal use of rihac's Intellectual property by a variety of companies, particularly outside Australia. Utilising everything from our existing patents, trademarks and copyrighted material. We have stepped up our prosecution of these matters and have engaged the Tier 1 top rated international IP law firm ' Griffith Hack' to assist us in prosecuting these matters.

RIHAC developed ink supply systems over a decade ago now and literally on a daily basis we find copies or poor immitations of our invention. Whilst we have no problem with competition we find a number of companies or sole trader style businesses simply copying our information and passing off their product as having attributes or qualities it does not have.

It's been a while since the last news and there is much to convey

Since mid last year we have been working on cartridge chips for the Epson Stylus NX220, NX420 and Workforce 320, 325, 625, 630 & 633 amongst others. We did trial some chips from China and Korea but were not satisfied with their reliability. These chips also needed external 240v power and also a USB active connection which some people may have seen via Ebay and alike. In conjunction with several other overseas companies we are able to announce that we have a chip which we are trialling that does not need any USB or 240v power. These chips will function (reset) via a small battery. We anticipate around 4 weeks until testing is completed (all going well).

Early this year rihac CIS Systems were awarded as a finalist in the Women's Weekly Product of the Year Awards (March edition of The Australian Women's Weekly, page 217). The winner is the product which pollsthe most votes via SMS, coupon, & email with votes closed as of April 6th. Thanks to those who voted we genuinely appreciate it and when we know the results we'll pass them on. We have made it as a finalist with our competition being the who's who of brands being Optus, Samsung, Yamaha, Sony & BenQ.

29/09/10

Both Epson and Canon have released new printers to add to their 2010/11 range in all countires.

Work has commenced to develop systems to suit these new models which include:

Epson Branded Printers (Australian Models):

Stylus N11, NX125, NX220, NX420

Workforce 320, 325, 625, 630 & 633

TX725W and TX825FW

Canon Branded Printers (Australian Models):

IP4850 (CISS already developed and available)

MG 5150, 5250, 6150 & 8150

Canon CISS units will be available within 2 weeks for all the new models however they do utilise new chips which will take some months to develop, so chips will need to be transplanted from OEM cartridges in the short term future (i.e. No chipped units available)

Epson Systems will take a few months to develop due to the new chips being used on the OEM cartridges. We are hopefull that we can release the new systems for the Epson models prior to Xmas 2010.

In other news we are excited to announce that rihac photo papers will start being released from next week. After almost three years in development we are releasing our own range of high end inkjet photo papers. The papers include a range of triple resin layered papers which have a rag style (similart to photo studio prints) finish.

Construction has commenced at our new HQ in Maidstone and we are confident we will be trading from our new offices by the years end.

10/06/10

Rihac Enterprises P/L have just signed off on our new home in Maribyrnong, Victoria. Our new home located in Hamstead Road, Maribyrnong is set to be our new home later in 2010. The new premises boasts 1,000 sq metres of space and the new home of our R&D, tech support , admin and management.

2010 is set to see the introduction of toner cartridge support and the release of specialised photo papers.

Also in the news is our UK operation which now stocks the majority of products suitbale for printers in the EU market. Our aim is to also expand into toners and papers for the UK and EU markets in early 2011.

A new product has been released this week being a highly advanced CISS unit for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 and 8000 (HP 940 cartridges). These printers are higher end office printers and used as an alternative to laser printers. The new CISS units include highly engineered cartridges which match the specialised OEM cartridges by having a pump incorporated to ensure ink volume does not drop (pressure drop can cause the prin heads in these machines to fail which is a costly problem).
