Rihac Enterprises P/L have just signed off on our new home in Maribyrnong, Victoria. Our new home located in Hamstead Road, Maribyrnong is set to be our new home later in 2010. The new premises boasts 1,000 sq metres of space and the new home of our R&D, tech support , admin and management.

2010 is set to see the introduction of toner cartridge support and the release of specialised photo papers.

Also in the news is our UK operation which now stocks the majority of products suitbale for printers in the EU market. Our aim is to also expand into toners and papers for the UK and EU markets in early 2011.

A new product has been released this week being a highly advanced CISS unit for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 and 8000 (HP 940 cartridges). These printers are higher end office printers and used as an alternative to laser printers. The new CISS units include highly engineered cartridges which match the specialised OEM cartridges by having a pump incorporated to ensure ink volume does not drop (pressure drop can cause the prin heads in these machines to fail which is a costly problem).

We have today released a CISSunit and refill inks to suit the HP printer range using the 564 cartridges including the C309a and C5380 printers.

Although chips are not available for the HP 564 cartridges (i.e. HP 309A printer) we are progressing with a system that will use the OEM chips removed from the genuine cartridges.

We have also released a unit for the Epson printers utilising the 5 cartridges being T30, TX510FN and T1100.

We have further updated the chipset we utilise for the 6 ink Epson printers. This new chip allows the resetting of multiple cartridges at a time and is being included with all relevant systems from today.

We have today released a unit to suit the new TX650 Epson printer

Although chips are not available for the HP 564 cartridges (i.e. HP 309A printer) we are progressing with a system that will use the OEM chips removed from the genuine cartridges. We are currently remoulding our cartidges and should have trial units mid January.

We have comenced final testing of the T1100 Epson A3 CISS units (5 cartridge) and we anticipate releasing the units just into the new year, if not before.

We have today released more CISS units to suit the new range of Epson and Canon printers including:

Canon MP640

Epson TX510FN, TX600FW, TX610FW & TX550 printers.

We are still working on the HP 564 cartridges (i.e. HP 309A printer). At this stage no aftermarket chips are available and progress has been delayed due ot this issue. It is not anticipated these units will be released until next year unless the chip is duplicated prior to the end of the year.

We have today released CISS units to suit some of the new range of Epson and Canon printers including:

EPSON branded TX710W and TX810FW ( as well as UK and US versions of these printers)

Canon branded IP4700.

We are presently testing the Epson TX110, TX510FN, TX610FW & TX550 printers & the Canon MP640. We anticipate releasing these units by the end of next week.

We have just released the CISS units suitable for the brand new Epson T50 which replaces the older R290 printer.

Development has commened on the new range of HP printers utilising the 564 cartridges, such as the Photsmart C5380, C6380 & C309a. Currently the chip has not been duplicated and whilst we can transfer teh chips onto a CISS cartridge they are extrememly easy to damage. At this point we may release a system which utilises the chips from the genuine cartridges towrds the end of the year, however there are a couple of stability issues we are working on regarding the cartridge moulds and reliability.

Updating from the last news release we have released the 520/521 chips and pre-chipped units for the new canon range. We have also released a CISS unit for the Canon MP980 which is used in conjunction with the OEM gray cartridge chip.

Various updates to existing ARC chipsets have also been made to coincide with firmware changes by the major printer brands at factory level.

We have just released the CISS units suitable for the Canon MX860 printer.

Work is progressing on the Auto resetting chip for the new Canon 520 and 521 series cartridges. The chips have been tested and we have identifided some minor stability issues which are now being addressed. We anticipate that fully working chips will be available within 4 weeks. This will also mean CISS units for the IP3600, IP4600, MP540, MP620, MP630 & MX860 will be available with a pre-chipped option.

Initial development has commened on the new range of HP printers utilising the 564 cartridges, such as the Photsmart C5380, C6380 & C309.

Initial development commenced on the Canon MP980 printer. It is likely that we will release a unit that does not include the grey colour, allowing the a CISS unit to be fitted in conjunction with OEM grey cartridge CLI-8GY.

PROGRESS REPORT TX700, TX800FW

Chip testing has been completed and we now have a functioing chip which we have sent off for production. We should have chips arriving with 14 days.

HOWEVER, at this stage physical modifications will definitely be required to make the unit function in both the TX700 and 800 printers. We will continue to develop alternatives but at this stage it is the only way to fit a CISS unit

PROGRESS REPORT TX700, TX800FW

We have managed to install a CISS unit into these model printers and have them functioing. However the chip sample we were using has proven to be unstable so agai we are awaiting on a new chip sample arriving next week.

During the testing we have had significant issues with the installation as the printer uses magnetic sensors to identify when the scanner lid is open.

At this stage the only way we can fit a system to this printer is to physically modify the printer by removing a sensor from the scanner lid. Whilst this is not a difficult process it will immediately void your printer warranty IF you were to return the printer to Epson with the sensor having been removed. Re-installing the sensor is not difficult if required.

Whilst we will continue to develop a work-around we anticipate releasing the CISS unit within 4 weeks (provided the new chips are stable) for those customers who are not concerned with the physical modifications that would be required.

06/03/09

We can now announce that this week we are releasing the new CISS units to suit:

Brother printers using the LC67 Cartridges, including the new A3 multifunction printer. Epson TX600F and T40W systems

TX700 and TX800 units are in final testing and due to a delay in chip manufacturing are on track for release in Early April.

Our European customers are now able to shop via our UK website www.rihac.co.uk which has been upgraded as well as carrying a greater range of products.
